L’arte del secolo scorso, del novecento, non esiste più. Il mondo digitale ci fornisce una continua anteprima dell’opera d’arte e del progetto; vediamo i contenuti sul nostro schermo prima di poter fare esperienza diretta di questi contenuti. Il valore dell’attesa, come anticamera dove pregustare e iniziare una nuova esperienza, non esiste più. Tutto inizia a succedere subito, l’opera d’arte che andiamo a vedere nel museo, inizia a esistere quando guardiamo il cellulare a casa nel nostro letto.
L’immaginazione e l’effetto sorpresa, legati all’arte contemporanea, tendono ad esser soffocati dal mondo digitale; ecco perchè la realtà che avviene improvvisamente e senza anteprime digitali è molto più efficace. Nel 2009 Luca Rossi modifica un comunicato stampa ufficiale e invita il pubblico a ordinare delle pizze durante la mostra ufficiale presso la Galleria Massimo De Carlo di Milano. Il progetto ufficiale viene investito da una condizione di attesa e sospensione. Ma anche il progetto Blind Works (2014-on going) dove lo spettatore può scegliere tre artisti moderni o contemporanei da far dialogare nella stessa opera, e dove l’opera viene vista solo ed esclusivamente quando arriva a casa del pubblico. Ecco che immaginazione ed effetto sorpresa sono riattivati.
The art of the last century, of the 20th century, no longer exists. The digital world provides us with a continuous preview of the artwork and project; we see the content on our screen before we can experience it directly. The value of waiting, as an antechamber where we anticipate and begin a new experience, no longer exists. Everything starts to happen immediately, the work of art that we go to see in the museum, starts to exist when we look at the mobile phone at home in our bed. Imagination and the surprise effect tend to be stifled by the digital world; that is why reality that happens suddenly and without digital previews is much more effective. In 2009, Luca Rossi changed an official press release and invited the public to order pizzas during the official exhibition at the Galleria Massimo De Carlo in Milan. The official project is invested with a condition of waiting and suspension. But also the project Blind Works (2014-on-going) where the viewer can choose three modern or contemporary artists to interact in the same work, and where the work is only and exclusively seen when it arrives at the public’s home. Here imagination and surprise effect are reactivated.
